| | | The high priest (Cohen)'s garments, which included the breastplate, ephod(apron), robe, tunic, turban, girdle, headplate, and breeches, were made of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet yarns, and fine linen. On the ephod were placed two onyx stones with the names of the children of Israel, as a memorial. The "breastplate of judgement" was to contain 12 precious stones set in gold, as well as the Urim and Tumim, a biblical idiom likely meaning perfect lights, which could be consulted for advice about the actions of the king, high priest, or the entire community. They would light up, and the high priest would interpret the result as a divine message. As well as distinguishing the priests from the laypeople, the priestly garments were worn to atone for various sins |

The robe can be woven out of cotton, silk, raw silk, wool or other natural fibers. 2) Turban Our turbans are made from 9 yards of ribbon and finished with a hand-hammered gold plate. 3) Ephod (the multicolored apron with breastplate Following scripture, the ephod is made out of blue, crimson, and purple wool and white linen (or wool/silk if you prefer). It consists of a breastplate riveted to the shoulder straps. The breastplate is actually a lined bag.
