Fibers

We use a number of different yarns. Below is a comparison of ones we use most often. However, we are happy to accommodate special requests (such as tencel, rayon, and others)

Cotton: Launders and holds up well, soft, medium weight and “blankety.”

Chenille: Vibrant colors, velvety soft, drapes beautifully, holds up well, medium weight

100% wool: Heavier than silk blend, colors blend nicely, dry cleaning preferable.

Weaving

Silk/wool blend: Muted colors, soft to the touch, but with a nice sheen. Dry cleaning preferable.

Raw silk: Has a fine, “heirloom” look, drapes beautifully, will stay looking newer than
cotton. The yarn itself is textured with a soft sheen.

Reeled silk: Higher luster and smoother than raw silk, also drapes beautifully and looks
new for many years.

Care

Many of our fibers can be handwashed, others need to be drycleaned. All weavings should be kept rolled, rather than folded to avoid permanent creases. Store in a cool, dark spot.
