Alissa J. Stern has been weaving since 1986. She specializes in weaving articles for Jewish life cycle traditions because she feels that it is important to both mark the importance of a ritual in terms of "weaving" a new stage in a person's life and to pass something on to other generations. She uses only the finest fibers to create judaica as beautiful as the life cycle tradition themselves. In her "spare" time, Alissa enjoys teaching children to weave. She worked with students at Gan Hayeled Nursery School at Adas Israel Synagogue in Washington, DC to weave a tallis out of recycled materials. Click here to view pictures.
